Happy New Year! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are making plans for an equally wonderful 2018.
I’m guessing that you have either started making plans for the year or you have making those plans on your to-do list. I’m doing the same thing so I thought about what the videos show about making plans.
Here are three plans that get mentioned regularly:
- Time with friends – There are few things more important than doing interesting things with friends. Especially activities that are regular (like planned gatherings) or things that get people out of the norm like trips and adventures. I’m making sure I have some camping trips and regular dinners planned with friends.
- Helping others – This also is mention repeatedly. When you help someone learn something new or achieve a goal of some sort, they never forget it. This can be done in your business, as a volunteer or just with friends. I’m looking into ways that I can mentor and/or coach people that want the help.
- Truly celebrating someone – this comes more from talking with clients than recipients but I think it’s worth mentioning. There is something truly invigorating and exciting about going that extra mile to honor someone. You probably already know this from your own experience. I know I certainly do. So I’ve added the birthdays of a couple important people to my reminder list. That way I’ll get a reminder 6 weeks out so I’ll start thinking about what I want to do for them.
I hope those help. I would love to hear what things you are scheduling to making 2018 that much more special. Please email me or join the conversation in the Appreciation Nation Facebook Group.
And if you want to meet up in person, I’m hosting my first Purpose Party on January 22nd in San Rafael, CA.
One thing I’ve learned from the videos is that we all have a purpose in life and that it’s so fun to connect with other people on a purpose to purpose basis. The Purpose Party will be part community event, part networking event and part “identify your purpose” workshop. Please come if you are in the area and/or share it with anyone you know that might be interested.
With much love and appreciation,
