No - while most will, we can't promise that we will get past all spam filters. Throughout the process we keep updated on who has and hasn't responded. If there is anyone super important you can reach out to them personally.
5 years ago when we started, there was a challenge with seniors not having or using smartphones. Thanks to Apple and Samsung that has changed and now most everyone has a phone or has a friend or a neighbor with a phone. Plus we are here to help them out if needed.
Yes - we have clients that mingle with nationally and internationally known actors, politicians, philanthropists and business icons. We treat their privacy like everyone else's with the highest levels of respect. The interesting part is that they love submitting clips via their smartphones as they are used to big productions and You Are Videos are a welcome relief.
We have done them as fast as a few days but we like to give people about 30 days. The reality is that most people will respond in the last 10 days so first 20 days is for them to get used to the idea of doing a video.
We give people a very short script - "[NAME] - you are...[and then a few words about what makes them special]". We ask people to keep to 10-15 seconds. Lots of people appreciate the brevity since it's hard to tell a good story. Other people talk longer because that's simply what they do. We try to keep everyone's clip but if we have a time constraint we will trim the longer contributions.
Very little. We believe the most important thing is what people are saying and not how they are flying in from different corners. Yes, this does mean that our videos aren't the prettiest of things. But remember these videos are really designed for just one person and they love hearing their name said over and over.
Yes - this isn't rocket science so you probably could. But I will tell you that we follow up with people that go that route and the vast majority of them admit to not doing the video. They are just more work than you expect and if you aren't really into them (like we are) there are lots of ways to get distracted. So if you want to do one, do it. For the sake of your loved one and all the people that will love saying "I love you", make sure you do it.
Yes - with a group of people and via a file that has been downloaded. These videos are about family and friends so it's nice to be around people you love. And while streaming movies is now commonplace I don't think it's worth taking the risk of an interruption right as a parent, friend or child is saying something really special.
Absolutely. This is one of the most powerful aspects of a You Are Video. Over time a person will hear things differently. Sort of like re-reading a great book. Your life changes so what you get out of the book or the video changes.
Many people do but we strongly recommend not doing that. The fact is that if you take any group of your friends there is a very good chance that not all of them will be around next year. I know this is morbid but we have had potential contributors pass while we were collecting videos and we've even had a client pass two days before the video was delivered to his loved one. Do it now.
You Are Videos start at $300 for 8 minutes (~20 contributors) and goes up $200 every 4 minutes after that. 20 minutes the max because we have found that after that it's just too long. Everyone starts with the base payment of $300 and then we calculate the total once the video is complete.
Absolutely. We do videos for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, retirements and end of life/hospice celebrations and we do them for same-sex couples and couples that aren't married. The founder (Joey) just happens to really love working with married men. It is so much fun to see the guys get excited about doing the video and then to hear how blown away the wives were when they saw it.
